Job summary

Community Support Services, located in downtown Akron, seeks an Expressive Arts Administrator to deliver individual and group art therapy for those with severe mental illness within Intensive Treatment Services. You will plan and coordinate the Art of Recovery event and integrate evidence-based art therapy into programing.

The role requires a Master’s degree in Counseling, Social Work, or Art Therapy and 3–5 years of relevant experience; ATR/LISW/LPCC preferred.

Qualifications

• Master's degree in Counseling, Social Work, or Art Therapy and 3–5 years of relevant experience.
• Current State motor vehicle operator's license.
• Registered Art Therapist (ATR), LISW or LPCC preferred.

Responsibilities

• Develop and facilitate therapeutic groups.
• Provide individual counseling and art therapy services.
• Complete assessments of prospective participants.
• Complete timely, accurate, and clinically appropriate documentation.
• Participate in treatment planning.
• Collaborate with members of the interdisciplinary treatment team.
• Provide supervision and guidance to art therapy interns.
• Manage the Art Therapy Program's supplies.
• Maintain a safe, organized, and therapeutic environment.
• Procure, present, and maintain submitted artwork for the agency's annual Art of Recovery event.
• Collaborate with the Director of Marketing and Development on the planning and execution of the agency's annual Art of Recovery.

Under the supervision of the Clinical Services Manager, the Expressive Arts Administrator provides individual and group art therapy services to individuals with severe and persistent mental illness. The Expressive Arts Administrator integrates evidence-based art therapy interventions into Intensive Treatment Services programming, including Art Therapy, Day Treatment, and substance use disorder/intensive outpatient programs.
