We seek candidates with excellent interpersonal skills, a passion for working with energetic students, and the ability to foster positive relationships within the school community. This position is for an Art Teacher, Long Term Substitute, for the 2025-2026 school year. SDST is dedicated to diversity and welcomes all qualified candidates.
Our K-12 Art Department Vision:
Our Visual Arts program is committed to offering inclusive, equitable, and accessible K-12 Art education through Culturally Responsive pedagogy aligned with the National Visual Arts Standards. We aim to develop students' art appreciation, skills, and craftsmanship across disciplines including 2D, 3D, and digital arts, exploring diverse cultural references globally. We encourage students to express complex ideas through personal visual expressions and community projects like exhibitions and public art, fostering connections to future careers in the arts.
We are hiring for our High School team, working with grades 9-12. Our art courses may include Art I, Ceramics I & II, and other departmental offerings such as Introduction to Art I/II. The successful candidate will contribute to our vision by enhancing our visual arts programs. Responsibilities are not limited to those listed and may include other duties as assigned by the supervisor.
