Job summary

Sylvania seeks an Elementary or Junior High/Middle School Art Teacher to deliver differentiated instruction and assess students in an environment conducive to learning. The role reports to the Principal and operates under a 10-month classification with non-exempt status.

Qualified candidates hold an Art Endorsement for K-9 or 5th–8th grade and an Illinois Professional Educator License, with experience in team-based settings and a willingness to develop professionally.

Qualifications

  • Art Endorsement required at Kindergarten–Grade 9 and/or 5th–8th grade level.
  • Online application, resume and recommendations as required.
  • Ability to work as a team member.
  • Valid Illinois Professional Educator License or other required license.
  • Past teaching experience in the subject preferred; recent coursework/student teaching considered.
  • Foreign language ability preferred.

Qualifications
  • This position requires an Art Endorsement at the Kindergarten – Grade 9 level and/or the Junior High/Middle School 5th – 8th Grade level.
  • A completed/submitted online application, resume, and letters of recommendation as required on the online application.
  • Ability to work as a team member.
  • Applicants must hold valid Illinois Professional Educator License or other License as required.
  • Past experience teaching the specific class will be considered first; recent coursework or student teaching in the subject will also be considered.
  • The ability to speak a foreign language is preferred.

  • Demonstrate accurate, up-to-date knowledge of content and learning standards
  • Foster a classroom climate conducive to learning
  • Utilize instructional management systems that maximize student learning
