Art Specialist & Cabin Counselor - Camp Ockanickon

Join to apply for the Art Specialist & Cabin Counselor - Camp Ockanickon role at YMCA of the Pines.

The Art Specialist & Cabin Counselor is responsible for planning, implementing, and leading various art programs for campers in both large and small group settings. The Art Specialist leads and lives with a cabin of up to 7 campers. Art activities include General Arts & Crafts, Ceramics, Painting & Drawing, Jewelry Making, Music, Drama, and Dance. This role is safety-sensitive.

Responsibilities:
  1. Provide instruction, supervision, and ensure safety of all campers in program areas and cabins.
  2. Create, plan, and implement age-appropriate art lesson plans.
  3. Ensure availability of supplies and resources.
  4. Assist campers in achieving their goals.
  5. Supervise and participate in all aspects of campers’ day, including check-in/out, meals, activities, and before/after-hours duties.
  6. Attend and participate in All Staff Training.
Qualifications:
  • Must be 18 years of age or older.
  • Previous camp experience or experience working with children preferred.
  • Ability to lead and instruct art programming for groups of campers.
  • Knowledge of safety procedures, equipment care, inventory, skill instruction, and age-appropriate programming.
  • Ability to recognize age and grade level characteristics of campers.
  • Training and certification provided during All Staff Training.

Compensation ranges from USD $210.00 to USD $490.00 per week.
