Position Summary

The Art in the Park Event Paraeducator supports the planning and facilitation of the Lakeview School District’s “Art in the Park” event on June 17 at Westlake Elementary. This role focuses on creating and leading engaging, hands‑on art experiences that promote creativity, learning, and fun for elementary students and families.

Funding Source

This position is funded under Section 31a At‑Risk. All job responsibilities and duties are aligned with the Section 31 At‑Risk Program’s intent and purposes, specifically to provide supplementary support to children who are failing or most at risk of failing to meet the district’s core academic curriculum standards.

Key Responsibilities

• Plan and organize art-based activities appropriate for elementary students
• Prepare and manage materials and supplies for outdoor art stations
• Set up and facilitate activities during the event on June 17
• Engage students and families in creative, inclusive, and interactive experiences
• Support event logistics, including setup, transitions, and cleanup
• Ensure a safe and welcoming environment for all participants

Qualifications

• Current Lakeview School District Paraeducator
• Interest or experience in art instruction or creative programming preferred
• Strong organizational and facilitation skills
• Experience with elementary‑age children preferred
• Effective summative rating on most recent evaluation preferred

Time Commitment

• Includes preparation time prior to June 17 and participation during the event
