Job summary

The Imagine Group in California is seeking a framing technician to assemble high-quality wood frames, stretch canvases, and install floating frames and matting. The role emphasizes precise craftsmanship and adherence to production schedules.

You will read job tickets, manage supplies, and maintain a clean, safe workspace while meeting quality standards. Prior experience with underpinning, V-nail machines, and canvas work is preferred.

Qualifications

• Experience operating an underpinning (V-nail) machine.
• Experience stretching canvas and installing floating frames.
• Experience handling canvas, and printed graphics.

Responsibilities

• Assemble wood frames from pre-cut mitered molding using an underpinning (V-nail) machine.
• Join, clamp, and inspect frames to ensure tight, square corners.
• Stretch canvas artwork onto stretcher bars, ensuring proper tension and alignment.
• Assemble and install floating (floater) frames for stretched canvas artwork.
• Fit artwork into frames using acrylic (plexiglass), glass, mats, and backing.
• Install hanging hardware, labels, and protective packaging.
• Perform quality inspections to verify frame alignment, fit, finish, and overall presentation.
