St. Norbert College is seeking an adjunct instructor to teach Methods in Art Education (EDUC 319) for Fall 2026 and to supervise the embedded clinical field experience. The role includes mentoring undergraduate Art Education majors and coordinating with PK–12 placements.

The instructor will cover curriculum development, lesson planning, classroom management, assessment, and portfolio development while guiding candidates through observations and conferences with cooperating teachers.

Qualifications

  • Master’s degree in Art Education, Art, Education, or a related field.
  • Minimum of three years of experience as an art teacher in a PK–12 classroom.
  • Knowledge of PK–12 art curriculum, instructional methods, and assessment.
  • Experience mentoring beginning teachers.

Responsibilities

  • Teach the Methods in Art Education course, covering curriculum and lesson planning, instructional methods, classroom management, assessment, studio practice, and the development of a professional teaching portfolio.
  • Supervise the clinical field experience for undergraduate Art Education majors, including observing candidates teaching in PK–12 classrooms, conducting individual conferences, and coordinating with cooperating teachers and placement sites.
  • Provide mentorship and coaching to beginning teachers and support their professional development.
