Job summary

Dutton Farm Inc. in Pontiac, MI is seeking an Art DSP Lead to supervise a team of direct support professionals and oversee a participant-centered art program that promotes self-expression and skill development.

This role involves implementing a unique art curriculum, guiding staff, ensuring safety, coordinating transportation, and stepping in for site management as needed. Candidates should have strong leadership, experience with disabilities, and a commitment to the mission.

Qualifications

• Must commit to a minimum of 35 hours per week.
• Must have and maintain a valid driver’s license with satisfactory driving record.
• Experience working with individuals with disabilities or in a care environment.
• Willing to transport participants between Pontiac and Rochester, MI.
• Strong leadership and communication skills; calm in emergencies.
• Knowledge of hygiene, toileting and medication administration protocols.
• Proficient with Microsoft Office.

Responsibilities

• Assist with Therap review as needed.
• Run morning participant meetings.
• Implement art curriculum and projects supporting growth and self-expression.
• Provide direction to DSPs during downtime to promote engagement.
• Ensure proper hygiene and toileting protocols are followed.
• Assist with emergency procedures and crisis management per policy.
• Maintain supplies and assist site manager with logistics.
• Ensure DSPs follow chain of command for communication.
• Step in as site manager for ratio and attendance processes.
• Oversee CI schedule and guide CI DSPs.
• Oversee medication administration per protocol.
• Conduct participant rounds when the site manager is absent.
• Help DSPs follow daily checklists and keep activities on track.
• Build positive relationships with participants and staff.
• Maintain a safe, inclusive environment and address concerns.
• Safely transport participants between sites and community activities.
• Adapt art activities for varying abilities and support needs.
• Assist with related duties as requested.
