Location: Fully remote, must work CST/PST and be located in the US

Job Type: Ongoing ad hoc contract, hours are uncertain

Compensation Range: $50-60/hr W2

Our in-house studio team is looking for an Art Director to work on an ad-hoc basis. This person must have well-rounded internal communications experience with big brand names, demonstrated within a portfolio.

The Art Director provides design support and leadership for the in-house agency. Working with copywriters, art directors, and designers, they develop visual concepts based on creative briefs. They support the creative team in developing marketing collateral and internal communications, exhibiting outstanding design judgment and a good understanding of clients' business challenges.

Responsibilities
  1. Design Support: Lead in executing marketing assets, brainstorm creative directions, convert ideas into visual prototypes, develop imagery, collaborate with writing teams, and oversee final production.
  2. Attention to Detail: Ensure projects meet design objectives, adhere to brand guidelines, and explore new visual interpretations to grow the brand.
  3. Creative Development: Support strategy development, participate in ideation, and provide insights on market trends and innovations.
  4. Teamwork: Improve team performance, mentor new members, and foster a collaborative environment.
  5. Client Service: Partner with leadership and clients, review briefs, build project plans, and lead client interactions as needed.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in design, advertising, or related field.
  • Minimum of five years of professional experience, including external agency experience.
  • Portfolio of recent work required.
Skills
  • Proficiency in Adobe Creative Cloud (Illustrator, Photoshop, InDesign).
  • Experience with annual reports, catalogs, brochures, etc.
  • Knowledge of user experience best practices.
  • Strong design theory understanding, verbal communication of visual concepts, adaptability, attention to detail, autonomy, and creative conceptualization skills.
