The Art Director is a conceptual expert and strategic leader who understands how to create comprehensive brand campaigns for multiple properties. This person is a strong 3D animator and motion graphic designer, an expert compositor and modeler, and well-versed in font explorations. They have a well-rounded portfolio demonstrating holistic design strategies across 2D & 3D video and character animations, aimed at enhancing video productions, live event LED displays, corporate videos, social and digital content. They will maintain broadcast-quality graphics, logo animations, and character animations on both 2D and 3D platforms. Capable of sketching and storyboarding concepts to implementation of computer-generated ideas, utilizing 3D and 2D resources to expedite projects while also designing original concepts that meet or exceed producers' directions. They should be adaptable to various creative projects, production work, presentations, and challenges across multiple brands and properties. They produce creative work on deadline, adhering to brand-approved art and style guides, and inspire creativity through positive reinforcement, leveraging team strengths.

Essential Functions

• Lead the creative services team on the development and approval of 2D/3D motion graphics, animation, and conceptual truck designs for broadcast television, high-volume video services, and live event graphics.
• Ensure design cohesion and create best-in-class creative across all projects.
• Interpret creative briefs and directions from Sr. Art Director & Producers to execute impressive projects.
• Collaborate with other Art Directors, Designers, Copywriters, and Video Producers to create original concepts, storyboards, broadcast graphics, and photoreal animations.
• Train, manage, and direct senior designers, motion graphic artists, and animators to improve efficiency and expertise.
• Maintain up-to-date art and style guides for Feld Broadcast, Digital, and In Venue assets.
• Understand that Brand, Global Partnerships, Licensing, and Corporate Communications are clients of the creative department and adapt accordingly.
• Present ideas effectively to senior leadership and external partners.
• Stay informed on broadcast, live event, digital, and social trends to guide future content creation and collaboration with digital and video teams.

Job Requirements

• BA Degree in Animation, Motion Graphics, or Film.
• Agency experience creating 3D product animations, logo animations, modeling, and TV broadcast IDs.
• 5-7 years of experience as an Art Director or Senior 3D Animator/Motion Graphic Designer.
• Strong portfolio demonstrating creative direction, modeling, logo creation, broadcast graphics, and digital experiences.
• Experience recruiting and developing graphic artists.
• Knowledge of emerging tools and practices in digital media; progressive learning attitude.
• Expertise in Cinema 4D or Maya, and tracking/compositing in Adobe After Effects.
• Proficiency in Adobe After Effects, Illustrator, Photoshop; proficiency on Apple platforms preferred.
• Willingness to assist staff with workload as needed.
• Strong communication and writing skills.
• Ability to mentor staff and work independently or in teams.
• Additional skills such as traditional illustration, HTML5, or other software are a plus.
