Job summary

Kishwaukee College in Malta Township, IL is seeking an Art Collection & Gallery Assistant - Student Worker to support the campus art collection archive project. Responsibilities include photographing artwork, researching artists, and documenting artwork locations on campus.

The role also helps prepare for exhibitions, installs/deinstalls shows, and may assist with promotional materials and receptions, while engaging with exhibiting artists and students. 16.50 per hour, 16 hours per week.

Qualifications

• Interest in art and willingness to learn about artists, exhibitions, and gallery activities.
• Ability to climb ladders, lift up to 30 pounds, and stand for extended periods.
• Ability to work independently with a respectful, friendly attitude.

Responsibilities

• Assist with campus art collection archive tasks including photographing artwork and documenting locations.
• Research artists and help prepare artwork for shows.
• Assist with installation and deinstallation of gallery exhibitions and with receptions.
• Create simple promotional materials such as posters or postcards.
