• Assess whether works fit a theme, exhibition, show, or collection.
• Review attribution, date, medium, edition, and print type using the available work and description.
• Identify gaps in provenance, or the record of where a work came from, along with doubtful attributions, condition concerns, and display risks.
• Check whether titles, labels, and descriptions are accurate and fair.
• Flag rights, consent, and ownership issues.
• Explain decisions clearly so another reviewer can follow your reasoning.

What it pays and takes

This is a part-time contractor opportunity.

• Pay: $50 to $105 per hour.
• Work setting: Fully remote, with availability across multiple countries worldwide, subject to applicable hiring restrictions.
• Required experience: Curator, assistant curator, collections or exhibitions specialist, gallery director, auction house specialist, art or photo archivist, or registrar experience.
• Relevant background: Selecting works, attributing them, planning displays, or handling loans and acquisitions.
• Photography knowledge: Experience with photographic prints, editions, and processes where applicable.
• Helpful knowledge: Historical or contemporary photography, painting and drawing, sculpture and installation, prints and works on paper, or collections spanning several media.
