Job summary

Worlds of Fun LLC is seeking an Art and Creative Services Technician - Seasonal to lead the installation and maintenance of immersive décor across the park. You will collaborate with Entertainment, Operations, and Maintenance to transform spaces for seasonal events like Halloween Haunt and Summer Events.

This hands-on role requires basic tools, dependability, and the ability to stand, lift, and work nights or weekends. On-the-job training and flexible scheduling are provided.

• Willingness to learn and safely use installation tools.

Responsibilities

• Install, maintain, and remove themed décor throughout Worlds of Fun.
• Assist with seasonal transformations and large-scale installations.

• Perform basic fabrication, assembly, and repair of décor elements.
• Maintain inventory of décor, props, and installation materials.
• Safely operate tools and equipment used in scenic production.
• Support load-in/load-out processes for events.

In this dynamic, hands‑on role, you'll lead the charge in installing and maintaining the immersive décor that transforms the entire park into a vibrant, themed escape for our guests. From daily scenic elements to large‑scale seasonal transformations like Halloween Haunt, you'll play a key role in creating unforgettable environments that spark imagination and excitement. What You'll Do

• Install, remove, and maintain themed décor elements throughout Worlds of Fun, ensuring a polished and immersive guest experience.
• Assist in the transformation of the park for seasonal overlays and special events, including large-scale installations for Summer Events and Halloween Haunt.
• Collaborate with internal departments (Entertainment, Operations, Maintenance) and external vendors to execute creative projects on time and on brand.
• Perform basic fabrication, assembly, and repair of scenic and decorative elements.
• Maintain inventory of décor, props, hardware, and installation materials; track storage and seasonal rotations.
• Safely operate tools and equipment used in installation and scenic production.
• Conduct routine inspections to ensure décor elements remain secure, weather-resistant, and guest ready.
• Support load‑in and load‑out processes for events and park-wide décor transitions.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safety-focused workspace in shops, storage areas, and installation sites.
• Contribute creative ideas and problem‑solving solutions to enhance the overall visual impact of the park.
• Move and handle general materials and large items, as well as traverse the park on foot with some lifting.

What We're Looking For

• Minimum age: 17
• Creative background in art, theater, scenic design, event décor, floral arrangement, visual merchandising, or a related field (preferred, not required).
• Basic knowledge of hand tools and a willingness to safely learn new equipment and installation techniques.
• Strong attention to detail with an eye for color, texture, and themed environments.
• Ability to work both independently and collaboratively with cross functional teams.
• Strong organizational skills with the ability to help manage inventory and storage.
• Positivity, flexibility, and eagerness to contribute to large-scale creative transformations.
• Ability to meet deadlines and adapt in a fast paced, event driven environment.
• Passion for themed entertainment, immersive experiences, and creating memorable guest moments.
• Ability to stand for long periods of time, walk long distances, lift, team lift, and carry equipment and materials as well as work in high and/or low temperatures and varying weather conditions.
• Strong teamwork skills and professional behavior

• Ability to work nights, weekends, and holiday periods and willingness to work extended hours as needed to meet business needs.
• Ability to pass a mandatory (or random) drug test, per Company policy, unless prohibited by state or provincial law.
• Ability to pass a background check, if 18 years of age or older, which may include, but is not limited to, credit, criminal, DMV, previous employment, education, and personal references, per Company policy, unless prohibited by federal, state, or provincial law.
