The City of Richmond Fire Department is seeking an Arson Investigator/Inspector. The position requires excellent communication and professional interaction with the public while conducting investigations and inspections.

The Investigator / Inspector position requires someone who possesses excellent verbal and written communication skills. Excellent interpersonal skills are needed to deal with the public in a professional and courteous manner, including difficult and irate persons. Must work well with fellow employees. Conducts fire investigations, criminal investigations, fire and life safety inspections, and educational programs on related safety. The Investigator / Inspector will also conduct building inspections and other inspections necessary to maintain the public's general health, safety, and welfare, and assist the Fire Marshal with plan reviews for code compliance. This position is subject to being "On-Call".
