Qualifications

• ARRT certification (R) required.
• Radiologic technologist license in state of practice (if applicable).
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required for healthcare providers.
• May be required to complete the Medical Assistant competency checklist and function as MA in a clinic or InstaCare setting.

Responsibilities

• Maintains ARRT or modality-specific competency in clinical/technical functions.
• Verifies patient identification, prepares the patient for the exam.
• Performs exams per department protocol and reviews images for quality.
• Adheres to radiation safety guidelines and maintains a safe environment.
• Completes studies within acceptable time limits without compromising patient care.
• Assists and instructs students and other radiology staff in protocols and equipment.
• Provides patient education and ensures comfort during procedures.
• Follows infection control and sterile techniques.
• Operates equipment and related information systems to ensure quality images.
• Keeps accurate records of patient information, procedures, and any adverse reactions.
• Follows protocols for medical necessity, coding, charging, consents, QC programs, and equipment failure reporting.
