Qualifications

  • High School GED or diploma upon hire.
  • Graduate from healthcare programs: IBHRE, CMA, CNA, LPN, EMT.
  • Bachelor/BS or AS in biology, physiology, healthcare or related field.

Responsibilities

  • Schedules, performs, and scans EKGs, event and Holter monitors, patient hook-ups and report generation.
  • Communicates changes in patient's clinical conditions to physicians and managers.
  • Monitors and schedules pacemakers and ICD evaluations, including remote monitoring.
  • Prepare reports of test results for physician interpretation.
  • Track implants and device evaluations; document in patient charts and progress notes.
  • Escalate non-routine issues to practice manager or physician.

Job Summary and Responsibilities

As our Arrhythmia Tech, you will be crucial in specialized cardiology care, managing diagnostic testing and vital cardiac device monitoring.

Every day, you will expertly handle trans-telephonic pacemaker monitoring (scheduling, recording, reporting), apply/schedule Holter/event recorders (with patient education), and perform essential cardiology diagnostic tests (ECGs, treadmills). You'll also manage patient data entry and actively train (with a preceptor) to advance pacemaker/ICD interrogation and evaluation skills toward an Arrhythmia Tech II level.

To be successful in this role, you will demonstrate strong technical aptitude, meticulous attention to detail, excellent organizational skills, and a commitment to continuous learning for optimal patient outcomes.

  • Schedules, performs, and scans EKG’s, event and Holter monitors, patient hook-ups and report generation. Completes the next day’s schedule with reprogramming forms and confirms those appointments in the scheduling system.
  • Communicate with physicians, managers, and co-workers as appropriate about changes in patient's clinical conditions, and informs provider of significant patient complaints and/or arrhythmia.
  • Monitors and schedules pacemakers and ICD's evaluations, including the use of trans-telephonic and remote monitoring.
  • Prepare reports of test results for interpretation by physician.
  • Tracks pacemaker implants, ICD implants, device evaluations, Holter and event monitors, complications and incidents. Tracks information on patient charts as needed. Documents in progress notes for patient communication.
  • Escalate non-routine issues to practice manager or physician.

  • Graduate from one of the following healthcare educational programs: IBHRE, Certified Medical Assistant, Certified Nursing Assistant, Licensed Practical Nurse, Emergency Medical Technician, upon hire or
  • Bachelors Of Science, upon hire or
  • Associates Of Science in biology, human physiology, healthcare or equivalent, upon hire
  • Basic Life Support - CPR, upon hire
