Job summary

SICE Inc in Houston, TX seeks a Control Room Operator to support 24/7 toll road and traffic operations. You will monitor infrastructure, update signs, coordinate with responders, and assist in incident management while maintaining safety and efficiency.

The role requires a high school diploma and at least 1 year of related experience, plus strong communication and data-entry skills; flexibility for varied shifts is essential.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED and at least 1 year of related experience.
• Experience in traffic operations or control room environments preferred.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Monitor tolling infrastructure, toll rate displays, and roadway signage to ensure accurate operation.
• Identify system issues quickly and notify on-call personnel and field teams.
• Monitor traffic using CCTV cameras, loop detectors, and TM systems to detect incidents in real time.
• Update Dynamic Message Signs to inform motorists of incidents, closures, or weather impacts.
• Coordinate with law enforcement, emergency responders, and maintenance teams during incidents.
• Assist in incident management to minimize disruption and maintain safety.
• Receive and respond to calls from motorists and dispatch appropriate emergency services when needed.
• Document incidents, debris, hazards, and conditions in internal systems for reporting.
