Job summary

Therapeutic Health Services seeks a Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner to join our behavioral health team across King and Snohomish Counties. This full-time, non-exempt role involves rotating days at the Kent and Rainier branches and one remote day, with hours 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.

Requires national APRN credentialing, state licensure with prescriptive authority, and an active DEA license; compensation ranges from $71.16 to $77.12 per hour plus benefits.

Qualifications

  • National credentialing in Advanced Practice Psychiatric Nursing.
  • State licensure as a Psychiatric ARNP with Prescriptive Authority.
  • Active and unrestricted DEA license.
  • MSN or DNP in psychiatric nursing; 2 years’ relevant experience.
  • Basic physical assessment skills for referrals.
  • Ability to apply de-escalation and crisis intervention skills.
  • Proficiency with current electronic record systems, MS Word and Excel, Relias trainings.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct psychiatric evaluation, psychopharmacology, and documentation.
  • Participate in team meetings with the substance use, mental health, and psychiatric teams.
  • Provide consultation and education on psychiatric disorders and psychopharmacology.
  • Collaborate on intra- and inter-agency care decisions.
  • Review treatment plans and progress notes to ensure quality care.
  • Supervise APRN students as requested.
  • Maintain professional behavior, boundaries, and ethics.
  • Adhere to punctuality, attendance, and attire standards.
  • Demonstrate judgment and accountability, and respond to feedback.

Reporting Relationships:

Receives general supervision from the Medical Director, the Psychiatric Director, and the Branch Manager. This is a non-supervisory position that will work one day at the Kent Branch, one day at the Rainier Branch, and one remote workday. The hours of this position are 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Wednesdays (Rainier Branch), Thursdays (Remote), and Fridays (Kent Branch) with a pay range of $71.16 to $77.12 per hour.

Responsibilities:
  • Completes psychiatric evaluation, psychopharmacology, and consult documentation: and assures that necessary consent forms, laboratory requests, reviews laboratory results, and prepares reports relevant to work as directed.
  • Participates in team meetings with the substance use treatment team, mental health team, and the psychiatric team.
  • Provides consultation and education regarding psychiatric disorders and psychopharmacology to the mental health and substance use treatment staff.
  • Collaborates and provides both intra-agency and external consultation regarding the care of individual participants as treatment indicates.
  • Reviews treatment plans, progress notes, concurrent reviews, or discharge summaries, as requested, to assure participant care is optimal.
  • Supervises students from Advanced Practice Psychiatric Nursing Education Institutions as requested.
  • Maintains appropriate professional behavior, emotional self-regulation, communication, boundaries, and ethical practices.
  • Adheres to standards on punctuality, attendance, and attire/appearance.
  • Demonstrates clear, respectful, and appropriate judgement, accountability, and responsiveness to feedback.
Requirements:
  • National credentialing in Advanced Practice Psychiatric Nursing
  • State licensure as a Psychiatric Advanced Registered Nurse Practitioner with Prescriptive Authority
  • Active and unrestricted DEA license
  • MSN or DNP in psychiatric nursing and a minimum of two years’ work experience relevant to severe mental illness, chemical dependency, and diverse ethnic and cultural populations.
  • Basic physical assessment skills necessary for appropriate referral of clients to medical providers.
  • Ability to apply de-escalation techniques and crisis intervention skills to emotionally charged situations.
  • Demonstrate competency in current/new electronic record systems, Microsoft Word and Excel, and required Relias (online) trainings.

  • Work takes place in a social services environment where long periods of sitting, working on a computer, and standing (with accommodations provided for specific positions).
  • Travel to program sites and meetings outside the site and around the county are necessary
  • Ability to work in an environment where there may be animals present, including dogs
