Job summary

DC Army National Guard is seeking a Truck Driver to transport cargo and supplies, operate wheeled vehicles, and ensure safety and readiness. You’ll learn basic Soldiering skills and complete Advanced Individual Training, with pay during training and opportunities for tuition assistance.

Expect 10 weeks of Basic Training and 7 weeks of Advanced Individual Training, with potential for a civilian trucking career after service. Benefits include retirement, life insurance, and VA home loans.

Qualifications

• Must be at least a junior in high school or have a high school diploma or GED.
• Must be between ages 17 and 35.
• Must be able to pass a physical exam and meet standards.

Responsibilities

• Oversee and check proper loading and unloading of cargo on vehicles and trailers.
• Employ convoy defense techniques.
