Job summary

DMS International is seeking an Armorers (OBMLS Specialist II) to support U.S. Navy training evolutions. The role involves maintenance on small arms, weapon mounts, SAWS, and VAS, plus handling ammunition and explosives and ensuring compliance with safety and reporting standards.

Responsibilities include documentation, parts requisition, and development of SAWS courses of fire, with emphasis on precision, safety, and timely execution in varied environments.

Qualifications

• U.S. Citizenship required.
• Associate’s degree and three years of weapons maintenance experience OR four years of military experience in lieu of a degree.
• Minimum of three years’ preventative/corrective weapons maintenance and two years in ammunition management.
• Lautenberg Amendment compliance required.
• Completed U.S. military armorer courses preferred (CENSECFOR EOLM, NSW EOLM, NECC EOLM).
• Navy course completions and qualifications such as AMMO 49/51, AMMO Tech Specialist, AMMO Administration, Fleet Sentencing, OIS‑R, TAMIS, MPPEH are preferred.
• Familiarity with the FATS simulator is preferred.
• Mandatory medical, psychological, and drug screenings.
• Knowledge of night vision, lasers, weapons, and weapon sight technologies.

Responsibilities

• Perform training support duties for small arms and crew-served weapons training.
• Maintain and repair weapons, mounts, VAS, SAWS, and related equipment; document maintenance.
• Handle ammunition and explosives per regulations; manage storage, shipping, and records.
• Read manuals and drawings; requisition parts and manage inventories.
• Develop SAWS courses of fire and manage training aids and facilities.
• Maintain documentation such as SOPs, CODRs, EERs, EMRs, PQDRs, SDRs, TMDERs.
