Job summary

Silver Star Protection Group is seeking an Armed Security Guard to protect facilities, employees, and assets in Chicago, IL. This on-call role requires availability for at least three shifts per week, including weekends, with a typical workload around 20 hours weekly.

You will monitor access, respond to incidents, prepare detailed reports, and coordinate with responders as needed. Strong communication and de-escalation skills are essential.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Valid PERC and FOID card REQUIRED.
• 20HR Armed and Unarmed Training.
• Prior security, law enforcement, or military experience preferred.
• Ability to remain alert and respond swiftly to security concerns.
• Strong communication and de-escalation skills.
• Excellent customer service skills.
• Physical ability to patrol, stand, and respond to emergencies.
• Must be available for on-call shifts and report promptly.
• A valid driver’s license and reliable transportation are required.
• Must pass a background check.

Responsibilities

• Monitor security systems, including surveillance cameras and access controls.
• Investigate disturbances and take appropriate action based on company protocol.
• Aid employees, clients, and visitors in security matters.
• Prepare and submit detailed reports on security incidents and observations.
• Collaborate with law enforcement or emergency responders when necessary.
• Ensure compliance with company security policies and procedures.
• Maintain a professional demeanor while representing the company.
