Job Title : Transportation Officer (Remote Driver - Norfolk)

Job Summary

Responsible for following the policies, procedures, and posting orders for the assigned post they are working; responsible for the health and welfare of the entire detainee population; responsible for responding to and handling emergency situations; responsible for supervising the detainee population as they participate in various activities.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  1. Search for and identify contraband items.
  2. Familiar with the detainee handbook, Performance Based National Detention standards (February Erata), and American Correctional Association standards.
  3. Respond promptly to body alarms and other crisis situations requiring immediate action.
  4. Search and apply different types of restraints as needed.
  5. Inventory and account for property.
  6. Write reports efficiently and accurately.
  7. Perform other duties as requested by management.
  8. Work a minimum of 8-hour shifts, which may include long periods of standing or sitting.
  9. Be capable of running, jumping, stooping, crouching, or lifting up to 50 lbs., including detainee property.
  10. Withstand exposure to OC Pepper Spray during training, crisis situations, and employment.
  11. Follow and complete assigned driving routes and schedules as directed by the Transportation Manager.
  12. Complete all required paperwork for ICA and ICE.
  13. Ensure all ICE needs are addressed daily.
  14. Support special transportation needs as assigned by Operations and ICE.
  15. Maintain awareness of time during driving routes.
  16. Maintain and review log books for accuracy.
