Job summary

GardaWorld Federal Services seeks armed ground transport professionals to provide safe, secure detainee transport across Texas, with occasional coverage in nearby states. You will execute routine and high-security contract transports between state/local law enforcement, federal offices, and detention facilities.

Candidates must hold a Texas Level III Commissioned Armed Security Officer License, a valid driver’s license with a clean MVR, pass background checks, and demonstrate English

Qualifications

  • Texas Level III license required.
  • Willingness to obtain 9mm or .45 handgun as applicable.
  • Valid driver’s license with clean MVR.
  • Minimum 1 year in security, military, or law enforcement.
  • Proof of US citizenship or work authorization.
  • DD214 copies if former military.
  • Fingerprinting required.
  • English literacy (read/write) required.
  • Age 18+.
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Clear background check and medical/drug screening.
  • Strong communication, observation and reporting skills.
  • Ability to stay calm under pressure and work flexible shifts.
  • CDL Class B w/P endorsement preferred but not required.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections of vehicles and safety gear.
  • Monitor detainee behavior and respond to disturbances during transport.
  • Apply restraints per procedures during movement operations.
  • Maintain logs, mileage records, and movement documentation.
  • Search detainees, vehicles and areas for contraband or safety concerns.
  • Operate radios, GPS, and tracking systems during transport.
  • Coordinate schedules with detention personnel and outside agencies.
  • Respond to incidents and medical emergencies with proper procedures.
  • Ensure compliance with detention standards, safety regs, and policies.
  • Account for equipment, including restraints, radios and keys.
  • Maintain professionalism and effective communication in all operations.

POSITION INFORMATION: BASIC DETAILS

Location: Dallas-Fort Worth, Houston, San Antonio, Austin, Corpus Christi, Tyler, Abilene, San Angelo, Midland, Lubbock, Fort Stockton, Amarillo, Hallettsville (all TX)

Full-Time/Part-Time: Full-time

FLSA Status: Non-Exempt/Hourly

Pay: $30/hr - ($24.91 Base + $5.09)

POSITION SUMMARY INFORMATION: DUTIES AND REQUIREMENTS
Position Overview

In this role, you will provide safe, secure, and humane armed ground transportation for individuals in custody across Texas and occasionally New Mexico/ Oklahoma in support of secure detention operations. You will execute routine and high-security contract transport services between state and local law enforcement partners, federal government offices, and designated detention facilities. Success in this role requires strict adherence to government detention standards, security protocols, and chain-of-custody procedures. Candidates must demonstrate exceptional situational awareness, advanced safe driving skills, and sound judgment when responding to security concerns or emergencies. Ultimately, this role demands a high degree of professionalism, accountability, and a commitment to maintaining a secure transport environment at all times.

Responsibilities
  • Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections of transportation vehicles, restraints, communication equipment, safety gear, and operational supplies to ensure readiness and compliance.
  • Monitor detainee behavior and security conditions during transport activities while responding appropriately to disturbances, emergencies, escape risks, or operational concerns.
  • Apply and monitor restraints in accordance with facility procedures, transportation protocols, and approved security requirements during detainee movement operations.
  • Maintain accurate transportation logs, mileage records, detainee movement documentation, vehicle inspection reports, and operational paperwork related to transport activities.
  • Conduct searches of detainees, transport vehicles, equipment, and operational areas for contraband, prohibited items, or safety concerns in accordance with facility procedures.
  • Operate radios, phones, GPS systems, emergency communication equipment, and transportation tracking systems during assigned transport operations.
  • Coordinate transportation schedules, routing plans, appointment times, and detainee movement activities with detention personnel, healthcare staff, court officials, and outside agencies.
  • Respond to vehicle incidents, medical emergencies, operational disruptions, or detainee behavioral issues while initiating appropriate emergency response procedures and notifications.
  • Ensure all transportation operations comply with government detention standards, vehicle safety regulations, facility security procedures, and company operational policies.
  • Maintain accountability of assigned equipment including restraints, keys, radios, firearms (if applicable), emergency gear, and operational transportation resources.
  • Maintain professionalism, strong observational skills, effective communication, and sound decision-making while supporting safe and secure detainee transportation operations.
Qualifications
  • Must possess a Texas Level III Commissioned Armed Security Officer License.
  • Must possess or be willing to obtain a registered approved 9mm semiautomatic pistol or .45 ACP handgun
  • Must possess a valid driver’s license with Clean Motor Vehicle Record.
  • Minimum of one (1) year of experience in commercial security, military service, or law enforcement/corrections required.
  • Must be able to provide proof of citizenship or legal US work authorization.
  • If prior active-duty military, must provide copies of DD214(s) showing discharge condition.
  • Must consent to fingerprinting.
  • Must be able to read, write, speak, and understand English proficiently.
  • Must be at least 18 years of age.
  • Must possess a high school diploma or equivalent
  • Clean criminal record and ability to pass a comprehensive background check and security screening.
  • Ability to pass a preemployment medical assessment and drug screening.
  • Excellent communication, observation, and report-writing skills.
  • Ability to remain calm and effective under pressure and in high-stress situations.
  • Ability to work flexible shifts, including nights, weekends, and holidays.
  • Class B CDL w/P endorsement preferred, however not required.
Work Environment

Employees may be exposed to extreme cold or hot weather conditions, fumes, or airborne particles, toxic or caustic chemicals, and loud noise.

Physical Requirements

Employees may be required to remain in a stationary position, stand, push, pull, climb, kneel, crawl, balance, squat, bend, and reach. Employees may be also required to use gear to move items around, including, but not limited to, carts and dollies. Employees may also be occasionally required to lift and/or move up to 49 pounds.
