Job summary

BTI Security is seeking armed security officers to safeguard facilities and personnel across federal, state, and commercial sites. You will patrol premises, control entrances, monitor surveillance, and respond to incidents with professional reporting.

Required are a high school diploma or GED, two years of armed security experience, and DC licenses/permits. Opportunities for growth exist within a robust security program and diverse project locations.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required; associates degree preferred.
• Minimum two years of verifiable armed security officer experience.
• DC armed guard card/permit and active DC armed SPO, OC spray, baton required.

Responsibilities

• Patrols and monitors exterior and community areas on‑premises.
• Controls access of entrances/exits and directs employee/visitor flow.
• Monitors cameras for security events and incidents.
• Prepare detailed daily activity and incident reports.
• Operate magnetometer and X‑ray equipment as required.
• Communicate clearly via two‑way radios; report to supervisor/PM.

Job Skills / Requirements

• Armed Security Officers perform a variety of security-related duties depending on the post.
• Patrolling and monitoring exterior and community areas on-premises.
• Access control of entrances and exits and departure of employees and visitors.
• Monitoring surveillance cameras for any disruptions or unlawful activities.
• Must have the ability to read, write, speak, and understand the English language.
• Must be able to understand, explain, interpret, and apply rules, regulations, directives, and procedures per contract.
• Provide detailed reports on daily activities and incidents that may have occurred.
• Knowledgeable and able to effectively use magnetometer and X-ray machines.
• Using provided communication devices such as two-way radios clearly and concisely.
• Performing CPR or first aid when needed.
• Ensure credentials are maintained per contract requirements.
• Perform other duties as assigned by the Supervisor or Project Manager.

Required Qualifications

• High school diploma, a General Education Degree (GED) recognized by the U.S.
• Associates Degree
• Two (2) years of verifiable experience as an armed security officer
• Must have a current and valid DC Armed Security Guard Card/permit
• Must have an active DC Armed SPO, O.C. aerosol spray, Baton
• knowledgeable of the security industry
• Must have a customer service driven mindset
• Ability to communicate effectively and present information to all levels of internal and external customers/clients.
