Qualifications

• Valid Illinois PERC (where applicable).
• Valid FOID card and firearms credentials.
• Required armed-security training and current qualifications.

• Background screening and any required drug testing.
• Strong observation, communication, report-writing, and conflict-management skills.

Responsibilities

• Armed protection: maintain a professional, visible security presence to deter threats and protect employees, customers, and bank property.
• Surveillance and monitoring: observe activity inside and outside the facility and report suspicious behavior.
• Access control: monitor entrances, verify authorization when required, and help prevent unauthorized access to restricted areas.
• Patrols: conduct assigned foot or vehicle patrols of designated areas, parking facilities, and building perimeters.
• Incident response: respond to alarms, disturbances, threats, and emergencies in accordance with established procedures.
• De-escalation: communicate calmly with customers and employees, manage conflicts professionally, and request police assistance when necessary.
• Emergency procedures: follow established protocols for robberies, medical emergencies, fire alarms, and other security incidents.
• Incident documentation: complete accurate reports, shift logs, and records of suspicious activity or security events.
• Policy compliance: follow employer procedures, firearms policies, applicable Illinois licensing requirements, and all relevant laws.
• Communication and coordination: work with bank management, security supervisors, emergency responders, and law enforcement as appropriate.
