Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED; must be 21 years of age.
• Read/write/speak English sufficiently to interpret policies, procedures, post orders, and training materials.
• Graduate of a recognized security training academy.
• Ability to complete firearms qualifications and maintain weapons proficiency.
• Pass background and drug screening.

Responsibilities

• Protect government personnel, facilities, equipment, and property from theft, damage, unauthorized access, and other security threats.
• Maintain a visible security presence through foot and vehicle patrols.
• Control access to facilities by verifying credentials, badges, and authorization documentation.
• Respond to alarms, emergencies, incidents, and requests for assistance in accordance with procedures.
• Observe, document, and report incidents and security concerns to supervisors.
• Process visitors, contractors, and vendors in accordance with security procedures.
• Carry and maintain issued firearms and security equipment per policies and regulations.
• Support emergency evacuation procedures and incident response activities.
