Security Engineers, Inc. is seeking an Armed Security Responder for 2nd shift (3pm-11pm) in South Carolina. This role involves armed patrols, access control, surveillance, and professional customer service to safeguard people and property.

The position requires SC Armed Security Officer license, ability to travel, and compliance with licensing and training requirements. Prior military or law enforcement experience is preferred. Competitive wages and benefits are offered.

Qualifications

Must have a current South Carolina Armed Security Officer License
Must be 21 years of age or older
Must complete all required armed security and firearms training and maintain any required firearm permits, certifications, qualifications, or authorizations in accordance with applicable state or jurisdictional requirements
Must be able to successfully complete and maintain current First Aid, CPR, and AED certifications as required by company policy, client requirements, or applicable regulations
Valid driver’s license and a Motor Vehicle Record that meets company-approved driver standards
Must be able to travel regularly
Prior military, law enforcement, first responder, or armed security experience preferred. Retirees welcome.

Responsibilities

Perform walking and vehicle patrols to identify and report safety or security concerns
Monitor access points, verify IDs and credentials, and enforce Security Post Instructions
Respond to alarms, emergencies, and incidents according to protocol
Complete accurate logs, reports, and routine security tasks such as locking/unlocking doors, managing security systems, and monitoring surveillance
Assist visitors and employees professionally while enforcing SEI and client policies
Maintain a clean, pressed uniform and professional appearance

Ability to work in fast-paced, high-stress environments.
Availability to work weekends as needed.
Strong situational awareness, attention to detail, and problem-solving skills.
Ability to remain calm and de-escalate situations during critical incidents.
Basic computer skills and ability to use tablets or reporting systems.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

Preferred:

Familiarity with Microsoft Office Suite.
Knowledge of access control systems.
Conflict resolution, de-escalation, active shooter response, FEMA ICD/NIMS, HAZMAT, or related specialized training.

Minimum Physical Requirements With or Without Reasonable Accommodation (Subject to change based on client-specific needs)

Education & Experience:

Minimum:

Education: High school diploma or equivalent.
Experience: 1+ years of verifiable security, military, or law enforcement experience.

Preferred:

Education: Associate degree or higher preferred.
Experience: 3+ years of verifiable security, military, or law enforcement experience preferred.
