Qualifications

• Possess a valid armed guard card or license.
• CPR certification is preferred.
• Access control and badge experience is preferred.
• Be at least 21 years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• Background check as required by law.
• Drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• State/local licensing requirements may apply.
• A valid driver’s license is required for driving positions only.

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service to personnel, visitors, and the public while carrying out site-specific security procedures and accident response.
• Conduct regular armed patrols of facilities, parking areas, access points, and perimeter areas.
• Respond to incidents and alarms in a calm, professional manner and contact appropriate personnel or emergency services.
• Monitor access to designated areas, verify credentials, and document visitor activity and patrol observations.
• Maintain a professional armed presence and comply with laws, policies, and post orders.

Job Description

As a Security Officer Armed Response Patrol in Salem, VA, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Government, and more. As an Armed Security Officer at a government transportation location, you will monitor and patrol assigned areas, maintain a visible presence to help deter incidents, support access control, and respond to security-related concerns. You will provide professional customer service and clear communication while representing Allied Universal’s agile, reliable, innovative, and caring culture through teamwork and integrity.

What You’ll Do:

• Provide customer service to personnel, visitors, and the public while carrying out site-specific security-related procedures, policies, and emergency response activities at government transportation locations.
• Conduct regular and random armed patrols of facilities, parking areas, access points, and perimeter areas to help identify and report unusual activity, hazards, and policy violations.
• Respond to incidents, alarms, and critical situations in a calm, professional, problem-solving manner, following established procedures and contacting appropriate personnel and/or emergency services.
• Monitor access to designated areas, verify credentials as assigned, and document visitor activity, incidents, and patrol observations in accordance with site requirements.
• Maintain a professional armed presence while performing assigned duties and following applicable laws, company policies, and site-specific post orders.

Minimum Requirements:

• Possess a valid armed guard card or license.
• CPR certification is preferred.
• Access control and badge experience is preferred.
• Be at least 21 years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Participate in industry-specific security training programs.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
