Armed Security Officer
Location: Chicago, IL 60602; Salary: $28.00 per hour; Type: Full‑time and Part‑time; Shift: All shifts available (days, afternoons, overnights); Eligibility: Armed Security Officer, veteran, or former law enforcement only.
Job Overview
We are seeking a vigilant and dependable individual to ensure the safety and security of our client’s property, personnel, and assets. The ideal candidate has strong observation skills, effective communication, and remains calm and professional in high‑pressure situations.
Responsibilities
- Regularly patrol assigned areas to deter and detect unauthorized activity.
- Monitor surveillance systems and alarms, responding to any suspicious behavior or security breaches.
- Conduct thorough inspections to ensure all doors, windows, and access points are secure.
- Respond promptly to emergencies or requests for assistance, including medical incidents, disturbances, or accidents.
- Maintain detailed logs and reports on security incidents, disturbances, and other notable activities.
- Offer exceptional customer service by assisting visitors, employees, and clients with inquiries, directions, and other needs.
- Collaborate with local law enforcement and emergency responders as needed.
- Adhere to company policies, state and federal regulations, and security standards to ensure compliance.
- Participate in ongoing training to enhance security knowledge, emergency response, and legal protocols.
- Perform additional duties as assigned by supervisors or management.
- Must be prepared to work in an armed capacity.

Qualifications
- Military service in a law‑enforcement related specialty (e.g., military police, combat arms, special forces).
- Minimum of two years of experience carrying a firearm as a law‑enforcement officer, with no disciplinary actions regarding firearm use or force.
- Proven experience as a security officer or guard.
- Must hold a 40‑hour state certification and a PERC card.
- Firearm Owner’s Identification (FOID) card required.
- Knowledge of legal guidelines for security and public safety.
- Proficiency in report writing and strong observation skills.
- Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation.
- High school diploma required; further education in security administration or a related field preferred.
