Job summary

Allied Universal is hiring an Armed Security Officer for a state site in Boston, MA. The position is part-time (Fri, Sat, Sun overnight 11 PM–7 AM). Starting pay is $25.88 per hour with paid orientation and training.

A concealed carry permit and 1+ year of related experience are required. You will monitor and patrol assigned areas, deter unauthorized activity, and respond professionally to incidents while ensuring safety.

• Maintain readiness to perform armed post duties in accordance with policy and law.

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service to visitors, staff, and/or the public while carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities at a government location.
• Respond to incidents, disturbances, and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, documenting observations and communicating with supervisors and/or public agency contacts as needed.
• Conduct regular and random patrols of roadways, buildings, offices, parking areas, and perimeter locations to help identify unusual activity, access concerns, and/or potential hazards.
• Monitor access points and restricted areas, verify credentials when required, and help to deter unauthorized entry or prohibited activity in accordance with post orders and applicable regulations.
• Maintain readiness to perform armed post duties in accordance with Allied Universal standards, site policies, and applicable laws while using sound judgment during routine operations and emergency situations.

What You’ll Do:

Minimum Requirements:

• Possess a concealed carry weapons permit.
• Be at least 21 years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Participate in industry-specific security training programs.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver's license will be required for driving positions only.
