Job description

Armed Security Officer - Security and Safety - 40hrs/wk - Variable Shift - Novi

Provides security services to ensure a safe environment for staff and visitors. Responsibilities include:

  1. Proactive monitoring and timely response to potential or actual security threats.
  2. Investigation, documentation, and management of security incidents and hazards.
  3. Following policies and procedures regarding alarms and emergency/disaster preparedness plans, including facilitating drills and simulations.
  4. Providing information and assistance to staff and visitors to promote safety.
  5. Operating vehicles responsibly to avoid accidents and violations, if applicable.

CERTIFICATIONS/LICENSURES REQUIRED:

  • Driver's License credentialed from the Michigan Bureau of Motor Vehicles.
  • Michigan Concealed Pistol License.
  • BLS Provider (American Heart Association or Red Cross preferred).
  • Law Enforcement experience preferred.
  • Management of Aggressive Behavior certification preferred.
  • Security Professional certification preferred.

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:

  • High School diploma or equivalent, or 1 year of relevant experience.
  • 3 years security, law enforcement, military, or fire experience preferred.
