Armed Security Officer - Security and Safety - 40 hrs/wk - Variable Shift - Southfield

Provides security services to ensure a safe environment for staff and visitors. Responsibilities include:

1. Proactive monitoring of and responses to potential/actual security threats.
2. Investigating, documenting, and managing security incidents and hazards.
3. Following policies and procedures regarding alarms and emergency/disaster preparedness plans, including facilitating drills and simulations.
4. Providing information and assistance to staff and visitors to promote safety.
5. Operating vehicles safely and responsibly to avoid accidents and violations, if applicable.

CERTIFICATIONS/LICENSURES REQUIRED:

• Drivers License credentialed from the Michigan Bureau of Motor Vehicles obtained prior to hire or transfer.
• Michigan Concealed Pistol License obtained prior to hire or transfer.
• BLS Provider (American Heart Association or Red Cross) preferred.
• Law Enforcement experience preferred.
• Management of Aggressive Behavior credential from International, Inc. preferred.
• Security Professional certification preferred.

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:

• High School diploma or equivalency OR 1 year of relevant experience.
• Professional licensure/certification can substitute for education or experience if applicable.
• 3 years of security, law enforcement, military, or fire experience preferred.
