Armed Security Officer - Security and Safety - 40 hrs/wk - Variable Shift - Detroit

Provide security services to ensure a safe environment for staff and visitors. Perform proactive monitoring of and timely responses to potential/actual security threats. Investigate, document, and manage security incidents and hazards. Maintain knowledge of and follow policies and procedures regarding alarms and emergency/disaster preparedness plans. May facilitate planned drills and simulations. Provide information and assistance to staff and visitors to promote safety.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalency, or 1 year of relevant experience. Professional licensure/certification can substitute for education or experience.
• Associate degree preferred, preferably in Criminal Justice or Security Administration.
• Law Enforcement experience preferred.
• Management of Aggressive Behavior credential preferred.
• Security Professional certification preferred.
• 0-3 years of hospital/healthcare security experience preferred.

Certifications and Licenses

• Valid Michigan Driver's License required.
• Michigan Concealed Pistol License required.
• BLS Provider certification preferred (American Heart Association or Red Cross).
