Armed Security Officer - Security and Safety - 40 hrs/wk - Afternoons - Detroit

Provide security services to ensure a safe environment for staff and visitors. Perform proactive monitoring of and timely responses to potential/actual security threats. Investigate, document, and manage security incidents and hazards. Maintain knowledge of and follow policies and procedures regarding alarms and emergency/disaster preparedness plans. May facilitate planned drills and simulations. Provide information and assistance to staff and visitors to promote safety.

Qualifications

1. High School diploma equivalency or 1 year of relevant experience; professional licensure/certification may substitute for education or experience.
2. Associate degree preferred, preferably in Criminal Justice or Security Administration.
3. Law Enforcement experience preferred.
4. Management of Aggressive Behavior credential from the Management of Aggressive Behavior Training International, Inc. preferred.
5. Security Professional certification preferred.
6. 0-3 years of hospital/healthcare security experience.

Certifications and Licenses

1. Valid Driver's License from the Michigan Bureau of Motor Vehicles prior to hire.
2. Michigan Concealed Pistol License prior to hire.
3. BLS Provider certification preferred (American Heart Association or American Red Cross accepted).
