Job summary

APSi is seeking a Security Guard in San Juan, Puerto Rico to perform fixed-post and mobile patrols, maintain situational awareness, and enforce post orders. The role involves monitoring alarms, controlling access, and coordinating with law enforcement as needed to protect government property.

The position requires two years of security experience or military service, fluency in English, and the ability to pass background and drug screening.

Qualifications

• Education: High school diploma or equivalent.
• Experience: 2 years security/civilian law enforcement or US Armed Forces.
• Language: Must be fluent in English (speaking and writing).
• Pre-Hire Screening: pass criminal background, drug test and physical exam.

Responsibilities

• Keep supervisors informed of unusual occurrences as detailed in post orders.
• Monitor alarms, radio traffic and other information sources; dispatch as needed.
• Report and address alarms, vandalism, theft, or unauthorized activity.
• Stop, screen, and inspect vehicles and pedestrians entering or exiting.
• Escort individuals or vehicles per post orders and protocols.
• Use radios, phones, or other communication devices per rules.
• Guard government property and log movements of property/equipment.
• Conduct regular patrols and inspections of buildings and facilities.
• Provide access passes and monitor RFID systems.
• Coordinate with law enforcement as required and testify when needed.
