Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• At least 2 years of college education.
• Associates degree preferred.
• Two years of verifiable armed security experience required.
• DC Armed Security Guard Card/permit valid.
• Active DC Armed SPO certification required.
• Knowledge of security industry and customer service mindset.
• Ability to communicate effectively with clients and colleagues.

Responsibilities

• Armed Security Officers perform a variety of security-related duties depending on the post.
• Patrolling and monitoring exterior and community areas on-premises.
• Access control of entrances and exits and departure of employees and visitors.
• Monitoring surveillance cameras for disruptions or unlawful activities.
• Read, write, speak, and understand English.
• Explain, interpret, and apply contract rules, regulations, and procedures.
• Provide detailed daily activity and incident reports.
• Operate magnetometer and X-ray machines.
• Use two-way radios clearly and concisely.
• Perform CPR or first aid when needed.
• Maintain credentials per contract requirements.
• Perform other duties as assigned by Supervisor or Project Manager.
