Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service to staff, visitors, and authorized personnel following site procedures and access-control requirements.
• Conduct regular armed patrols of buildings, grounds, perimeter areas, access points, and parking areas.
• Monitor and report suspicious activity, hazards, and maintenance concerns.
• Respond to incidents, alarms and critical situations calmly and follow post orders and escalation procedures.
• Verify credentials and control access while supporting orderly movement of authorized individuals and vehicles.

As a Security Officer Enhanced Part Time Armed Patrol Driver in Vanceboro, NC, this role is designed to provide reliable, consistent hours at an assigned site with the flexibility for you to earn more by picking-up additional shifts when it works for you.

Pay Rate: $21.50 / Hour

Job Schedule: Tue 05:45 AM - 06:00 PM

How This Role Works

• Fixed-Shift Commitment (“Anchor Shifts”): You will be hired for a designated site and weekly shift that serves as your reliable base schedule. This assignment requires a six (6) month commitment.
• Earn More, Claim-A-Shift Program: In addition to your fixed shift, you may pick-up extra shifts through our scheduling platform, allowing you to increase earnings and gain experience across multiple sites. Work part-time hours this week and full-time the next. It’s all up to you.

This role is ideal for candidates seeking part-time employment with flexibility, income stability, and opportunities to build-up to a full-time schedule of up to 40 hours per week; always with the option to scale back when needed.

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service to staff, visitors, and/or authorized personnel by carrying out site-specific procedures, access-control requirements, and emergency response activities at a government corrections location.
• Conduct regular and random armed patrols of assigned buildings, grounds, perimeter areas, access points, and parking areas to help deter unauthorized activity and identify conditions requiring attention.
• Monitor and report suspicious activity, policy violations, hazards, and/or maintenance concerns through required communication channels and written reports.
• Respond to incidents, disturbances, alarms, and critical situations in a calm, professional, problem-solving manner, following applicable post orders and escalation procedures.
• Maintain a professional presence while verifying credentials, controlling access, and supporting the orderly movement of authorized individuals and vehicles.

Minimum Requirements

• At least six months of armed security-related, law enforcement, or military experience is required.
• A valid driver’s license is required in accordance with Allied Universal driver policy requirements.
• An armed guard card or license is preferred.
• Be at least 21 years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Participate in industry-specific security training programs.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
