Prosegur is hiring a Security Officer to maintain a safe environment by patrolling, monitoring premises, and performing search procedures. This role requires an MD Armed Security Guard License and at least one year of security experience.

The successful candidate will work a 24/7 schedule with open availability and reliable transportation. Excellent communication and composure during crises are essential, along with a commitment to high ethical standards and customer service.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED equivalent.
• Must have a valid MD Armed Security Guard License.
• Must have one (1) year of experience as a security officer.
• Must have open availability to work all shifts and schedules on call as it is a 24/7 operation.
• Must have reliable transportation.
• Must have good communications skills.
• Ability to stand or walk for long periods.
• Must be able to walk/run flights of stairs on a daily basis.
• Ability to think clearly during crisis or high-stress periods.
• Must be reliable, have a positive attitude, and uphold ethical behavior.
• Must be able to acquire interim security clearance.

Responsibilities

• Armed monitoring and authorize entrance and departure of employees, visitors, and other persons to guard against theft and maintain security/safety of premises.
• Circulate among visitors, patrons, and employees to preserve order and protect property.
• Guard, patrol, and monitor industrial or commercial premises to prevent safety hazards, theft, violence, or infractions of rules.
• Enforce rules, regulations, policies, and procedures, and respond to emergency situations requiring security assistance.
• Escort on foot or by motor vehicle to transport individuals to specified locations or to provide personal protection or to escort persons off customer property.
• Write detailed narrative reports and maintain daily activity reports (DARs).
• Provide assistance to customers, employees, and visitors in a courteous and professional manner.
• Monitor for irregular or unusual activity.
• Secure facility and designated areas.
• Enforce facility and company policies and procedures.
• Investigate and prepare reports on incidents.

Physical Requirements

This position requires significant physical activity throughout the shift. Officers must be able to:

• Walk and stand for extended periods (including completing multiple rounds and patrols of up to 1–2 miles per shift)
• Frequently climb stairs, ramps, or ladders as required by site patrol routes
• Work indoors and outdoors in varying weather conditions
• Maintain alertness and situational awareness during all patrols
• Occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds
