Job summary

Allied Universal is seeking a Part Time Enhanced Security Officer in Houston, TX. You will support a designated site with fixed shifts, earn $22.00 per hour, and have opportunities to pick up additional shifts through our scheduling platform.

Ideal candidates have 3+ years in law enforcement/corrections/military or 5+ years in armed security, with a Texas Level III Armed Certification, a valid driver’s license, and are at least 21 years old. High school diploma or equivalent required.

• Document incidents and patrol activities promptly and communicate findings to leadership.

How This Role Works:

• Fixed-Shift Commitment ("Anchor Shifts"): You will be hired for a designated site and weekly shift that serves as your reliable base schedule. This assignment requires a six (6) month commitment.
• Earn More, Claim-A-Shift Program: In addition to your fixed shift, you may pick-up extra shifts through our scheduling platform, allowing you to increase earnings and gain experience across multiple sites. Work part-time hours this week and full-time the next. It’s all up to you.

This role is ideal for candidates seeking part-time employment with flexibility, income stability, and opportunities to build-up to a full-time schedule of up to 40 hours per week; always with the option to scale back when needed.

Responsibilities:

• Provide customer service to clients, employees, vendors, and shoppers by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and emergency response activities as appropriate.
• Respond to incidents, disturbances, medical situations, and other critical events in a calm, problem-solving manner; notify appropriate personnel and/or emergency services as directed by site procedures.
• Conduct regular and random armed patrols of the retail location, parking areas, loading docks, perimeter, and other assigned areas to help deter unauthorized activity and identify security-related concerns.
• Monitor access points, observe customer and employee activity, and follow site procedures for restricted areas, deliveries, and after-hours operations.
• Document incidents, observations, and patrol activities accurately and promptly; communicate relevant information to Allied Universal leadership and site management.

Minimum Requirements:

• Possess 3 or more years of combined law enforcement, corrections, or military experience, or 5 or more years of armed security-related experience.
• A valid driver’s license is required in accordance with Allied Universal driver policy requirements.
• Possess a Level III Armed Certification in Texas only.
• Be at least 21 years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Participate in industry-specific security training programs.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
