Job summary

Allied Universal is hiring for a Part Time armed security position at a government location in Phoenix. You will provide customer service, follow site policies, perform security procedures, and respond to incidents during your night shifts on Saturdays and Sundays.

The role requires an armed guard card, a high school diploma or GED, and background checks; candidates must be at least 21 and pass a drug screen where permitted by law. A valid driver’s license is needed for driving posts.

Qualifications

• At least 1 year of armed security-related, law enforcement, and/or military experience.
• Armed guard card and/or license.
• Be at least 21 years of age for armed roles.
• Background investigation required by federal, state and local laws.
• Drug screen required where permitted by law.

Responsibilities

What You’ll Do

• Provide customer service by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and/or appropriate emergency response activities at a government location.
• Respond to incidents, disturbances, and/or critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, including preparing clear and timely activity and incident reports.
• Conduct regular and random patrols throughout buildings, grounds, parking areas, and perimeter points while remaining alert to unusual activity and/or potential policy violations.
• Monitor access points, verify identification and/or credentials as required, and help to deter unauthorized entry or prohibited items in accordance with site procedures.
• Maintain a visible armed presence and follow post orders, use of force guidelines, and/or applicable laws and regulations while interacting professionally with employees, visitors, and the public.

Minimum Requirements

• Possess at least 1 year of armed security-related, law enforcement, and/or military experience.
• Possess an armed guard card and/or license.
• Provide proof of a high school diploma or GED as required by the client.
• Be at least 21 years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Participate in industry-specific security training programs.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
