Job summary

Brookshire Grocery Company, headquartered in Tyler, Texas, is seeking an armed security officer to safeguard company properties. You will perform uniformed security shift work, support investigations as directed, and respond to incidents to ensure a safe environment for teammates and customers.

Qualifications include a high school diploma or GED, 21+ years of age, valid Texas driver’s license, and DPS Level III certification or plan to obtain within six months.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Two or more years of related experience; or an equivalent combination preferred.
• Texas Department of Public Safety Level III certification required (must be acquired within six months). (Texas Only)
• Valid state driver’s license required.
• Minimum age 21 years or older to drive for Company business.

Responsibilities

• Provides armed physical security at assigned locations.
• Assists with security training and internal investigations.
• Monitors safety and security equipment and processes; assists with on-site training for newly assigned security officers.
• Responsible for filling position vacancies and working flexible shifts due to scheduling conflicts.
• Responsible for the use, maintenance of, and response to security alarms and other security systems at distribution centers.
• Monitors and controls vehicular and pedestrian access and traffic at non-retail locations.
• Complies with state and private security and safety regulations.

Education

High School Diploma or GED

Two or more years of related experience

Texas DPS Level III certification

Valid state driver’s license

Minimum of 21 years of age
