Job summary

S&C Electric Company is seeking a Security Officer to coordinate security functions across the Ridge Boulevard Industrial Campus and GSOC. The role includes patrolling, incident reporting, and responding to emergencies.

4 years of security experience and Illinois security training are preferred, with required PERC and FOID; licensure to carry firearm may be needed. Compensation includes base salary with eligibility for annual incentive plan (AIP) and competitive benefits.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED; some college preferred.
• Illinois Driver’s License and Illinois Firearms Owner’s Identification Card.
• 4 years of security or related background; industrial security, law enforcement, or military preferred.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to obtain the Firearm Authorization Card (FAC).

Responsibilities

• Create clear incident and field activity reports in a timely manner.
• Conduct events/investigations with attention to detail; gather statements and facts.
• Perform patrols to regulate traffic, ensure safety, and respond to incidents.
• Act as first responders to medical emergencies, fires, hazmat, evacuations.
• Monitor security systems and maintain logs in the GSOC and campus facilities.
• Issue temporary identification badges and parking permits.
• Coordinate logistics of deliveries from the GSOC.
• Operate radio and telephone systems during off-hours.
• Address safety, trespassing and workplace violence concerns and detain when needed.
• Maintain licensing and certifications (PERC, FOID, DL).
