Job summary

Prosegur is seeking an Armed Security Officer for USPS locations in San Antonio, TX. The role requires a Texas Level III Commissioned Security License and duties include guarding client facilities, patrols, access control, and incident reporting.

Shifts span all times, and the position may be full- or part-time. Qualified candidates will maintain a safe environment, comply with DPS regulations, and demonstrate strong English communication skills.

Qualifications

• Must be at least 21 years old per Texas DPS armed licensing requirements.
• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Must pass a client-mandated background check.
• Valid Texas Level III Commissioned Security License.
• Ability to communicate effectively in English, both verbally and in writing.
• Valid driver’s license and acceptable driving record (if driving is required).
• Ability to follow instructions and complete tasks.
• Willingness to participate in background checks, drug screening, and licensing processes.

Responsibilities

• Maintain a safe and secure environment while performing armed security duties per post orders.
• Report to Security Sergeant and follow directions from supervisory staff.
• Promote safety by identifying and correcting hazards.
• Enforce Texas DPS Level III armed security requirements consistently and professionally.
• Monitor and control access to client facilities and property.
• Conduct routine foot and vehicle patrols to deter incidents.
• Respond to incidents, alarms, and emergencies with calmness and situational awareness.
• Document activities and incidents in logs and required reports.
• Interact with clients, visitors, and employees in a professional manner.

Job Skills / Requirements

Duties and Responsibilities (include but are not limited to):

• Maintain a safe and secure environment for clients, employees, and visitors while performing armed security duties in accordance with post orders.
• Report to the Security Sergeant and follow all assigned instructions and directives from the Sergeant, Lieutenant, and Captain.
• Promote safety by observing, reporting, and assisting in the correction of potential hazards or unsafe conditions.
• Enforce Prosegur, client, and Texas DPS Level III security requirements consistently and professionally.
• Monitor and control access to client facilities and property, ensuring only authorized personnel enter restricted areas.
• Conduct routine foot and/or vehicle patrols to detect and deter suspicious activity or safety violations.
• Respond to incidents, alarms, and emergencies calmly and effectively while maintaining situational awareness.
• Document activities and incidents accurately in daily logs, incident reports, and required paperwork.
• Interact with clients, visitors, and employees in a professional and courteous manner at all times.
• Perform duties that may include standing, walking, moderate lifting, and working in various weather conditions as an Armed Security Officer.

Additional Requirements:

• Must comply with Prosegur, client, and Texas DPS Level III (Commissioned) armed security regulations.
• Possess a valid/current Texas Level III Commissioned Security License issued by the DPS Private Security Bureau.
• Maintain an appropriate firearm, holster, and duty gear in compliance with DPS standards.
• Successfully complete and maintain Level III training and firearms qualification through a DPS-approved training school.

Qualifications:

Required

• Basic computer skills (e.g., Microsoft Office, WinTeam, report writing systems).
