Job summary

Prosegur is seeking an Armed Security Officer in San Diego, CA to protect client assets and ensure the safety of personnel. The role requires vigilance, responsibility, and strict adherence to security protocols. A background in law enforcement or corrections and firearm handling are required.

Responsibilities include regular patrols, access control, incident reporting, and coordination with local law enforcement. This is a full-time role with 2nd/3rd shifts and weekend work, offering benefits.

Qualifications

• Experience: Background in Military Police, law enforcement, or certified corrections is required.
• Firearms: Must have own firearm and a valid license to carry; an armed guard license is required in applicable states.
• Training: Certified in arrest control, handcuff, and baton use.
• Screenings: Must pass random drug testing and a psychological evaluation.
• Physical Fitness: Capable of performing physical duties such as patrolling and responding to incidents.
• Compliance: Understanding of and commitment to all local, state, and federal security and firearm regulations.
• Schedule Flexibility: Ability to work various shifts, including nights, weekends, and holidays.

Responsibilities

• Conduct regular patrols of assigned areas, identifying potential security breaches or hazards.
• Deter, detect, and respond to security threats or incidents promptly and professionally.
• Control access points and monitor premises to prevent unauthorized access.
• Provide emergency response, including de-escalation, arrest control, and restraining individuals as necessary.
• Maintain clear and concise incident reports and documentation for all security-related incidents.
• Engage with individuals in a courteous and professional manner to enforce rules and regulations.
• Coordinate with local law enforcement when required.
