Job Summary

The Armed Security Officer is responsible for providing a safe and secure environment for patients, visitors, and staff, with an emphasis on professional service and customer relations. The role requires knowledge of the use of deadly physical force and working closely with staff, law enforcement, and other agencies.

Job Responsibilities

• Patrol Activity: Direct visitors, patients, and employees, prevent disturbances, and safeguard all persons on SEH property.
• Customer Relations: Provide assistance, clear communication, and de-escalation techniques to patients and visitors.
• Operations Center: Monitor CCTV and alarm systems, handle radio and phone communications.
• Documentation and Reporting: Complete reports, logs, and use photographic documentation when necessary.
• Training: Complete mandatory and firearms training, perform additional duties as assigned.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED, with applicable Criminal Justice experience.
• Bachelor's Degree preferred.
• Valid driver’s license and insurability.
• Completion of police, military, or concealed carry firearms training.
• Psychological evaluation and weapons retention training.

Experience

• 6 months of SEH Security Officer 1 experience, or
• Current law enforcement officer, or
• Honorably discharged military member.
