A valid Armed Security Officer license and a 2-year degree are preferred, along with evidence of reliable transportation and strong communication skills. Responsibilities include monitoring entries, patrolling designated areas, reporting incidents, and coordinating with law enforcement.

Qualifications

• Proficiency with assigned weapon and valid firearm permit.
• College degree (2 years) minimum; additional security/criminal justice education a plus.

Responsibilities

• Monitor and authorize the arrival/departure of employees, visitors, and others to maintain security detail.
• Conduct regular patrols by foot and/or vehicle.
• Be aware of and report suspicious activity.
• Write detailed reports on daily activities/incidents.
• Communicate effectively with law enforcement, supervisor, and property management as needed.
• Maintain high visibility and attention to detail.
• Monitor CCTV and alarm systems.
• Oversee daily security operations and serve as primary client contact for security matters.
• Provide excellent customer service to all individuals encountered.

As an Armed Utility Officer, you will play a critical role in protecting property, deterring unlawful behavior, and responding swiftly to incidents—all while providing exceptional customer service in a professional manner.

Requirements

Must possess a valid Armed Security Officer license in accordance with state/local regulations

Minimum of 2 years of experience in armed security, law enforcement, or military preferred

Valid firearm permit and ability to demonstrate proficiency with assigned weapon

College degree 2 years minimum; additional security or criminal justice education a plus

Must pass a background check and drug screening

Strong verbal and written communication skills

Ability to remain calm and make sound decisions under pressure

Must be physically fit, able to stand or patrol for extended periods, and work in various environments

CPR/First Aid Certification (or ability to obtain) preferred

Must have reliable transportation and be punctual for all assigned shifts
