SCOPE: Armed Security Officers protect the site’s building, grounds, assets, employees, and visitors from criminal activity. Officers will work as part of a team to control access at a local military headquarters, serving as a point of contact for visitors and patrons. This role offers a vital service within a team environment.

Schedule

• 0640-1910 (1st shift 6:40 a.m. - 7:10 p.m.) or 1840-0710hrs (2nd Shift 6:40 p.m. to 7:10 a.m.)
• ACA Full Time (30-39hrs/week)
• Part-Time (24 - 36+ hours / week) with opportunities for overtime. Open availability 7 days a week preferred.

Compensation

• Rate of Pay: $21.50 per hour

Job Description/Responsibilities

• Provide exceptional customer service.
• Guard posts at the entry/exit points of the military base.
• Conduct foot & vehicle patrols to ensure safety.
• Prevent unauthorized access to restricted areas.
• Verify employee, vendor, and visitor identifications.
• Detect suspicious persons, packages, and activities.
• Follow site-specific post guidelines.
• Document activities and report incidents.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

• Must be at least 21 years old.
• Valid Michigan Concealed Pistol License.
• High school diploma or GED.
• No felony convictions; pass background check.
• Pass drug test at hire and annually.
• U.S. citizen.
• Impeccable grooming and professional appearance.
• Excellent communication and problem-solving skills.
• Valid Michigan driver’s license with a clean record.
• Willingness to become CPR/First Aid/AED certified.
• Experience in law enforcement, military, or armed security preferred.
• Physical requirements include the ability to respond to emergencies, lift up to 70 pounds, and pass a Physical Agility Test within 90 days.
