Armed Security Officer for Environmental Protection Agency

Pay Rate: $33.41

Shift Options:

• 1st Shift: Full-time - 36 hours per week (Friday, Saturday, Sunday)
  0600-1800
• 3rd Shift: Full-time - 36 hours per week (Saturday, Sunday, Monday)
  1800-0600

Objective

This position, under the supervision of the Project Manager, is responsible for the protection, safeguarding, and security of assets, personnel, customers, and visitors.

Essential Functions

Read and comprehend printed rules, detailed orders, instructions, and training materials in English. Communicate effectively in person and via electronic devices (telephone, radio) in English. Maintain professionalism, tact, and courtesy in stressful situations. Write clear reports and short paragraphs as needed.

Job Duties

• Perform security patrols.
• Enforce access control procedures.
• Protect property from theft, embezzlement, sabotage, fire, and accidents.
• Investigate and document accidents, incidents, suspicious activities, hazards, and other security-related situations.
• Assist customers, employees, and visitors in following department procedures.
• Other duties as assigned by a security Lieutenant or Project Manager.

Candidate Qualifications

• Must be a U.S. Citizen.
• Must be at least 21 years old.
• High school diploma or GED required.
• Minimum of 2 years of armed security, law enforcement experience, or 3 years of honorable military service.
• OPOTA 20-hour private Security Certificate required.
• Ability to pass the Physical Fitness Test.
• Ability to pass Background Investigation.

Additional Eligibility Qualifications

Pre-employment medical exam and drug screening are required. Must pass NLIC, State, and Local background and credit checks as applicable.
