Job summary

Allied Universal, North America’s leading security and facility services company, is seeking a Part Time Armed Security Officer in Reno, NV. You will perform armed patrols, monitor access, and provide exceptional customer service while upholding safety protocols.

The role requires 3+ years of security-related experience or a college degree, plus a valid driver’s license. An armed guard card is preferred and a background check/drug screen are required.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of combined law enforcement, military, or security-related experience, or a college degree.
• A valid driver’s license is required.
• An armed guard card or license is preferred.
• The ability to lift more than 20 pounds is preferred.
• Be at least 21 years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen.

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service to visitors, employees, and members of the public while carrying out security-related procedures and emergency response activities.
• Conduct regular and random armed patrols of government buildings, public areas, parking locations, and perimeter areas to deter unauthorized activity.
• Monitor access points, verify authorized entry, and report suspicious activity, hazards, or policy violations.
• Respond to incidents and critical situations following site procedures and laws.
• Carry authorized equipment in accordance with Allied Universal policies.

• Fri 11:00 PM - 07:00 AM
• Sat 11:00 PM - 07:00 AM

What You'll Do:

• Provide customer service to visitors, employees, and members of the public while carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and emergency response activities as appropriate.
• Conduct regular and random armed patrols of government buildings, public areas, parking locations, and perimeter areas to help deter unauthorized activity.
• Monitor access points, verify authorized entry, and report suspicious activity, hazards, or policy violations through established channels.
• Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, following site procedures and applicable laws.
• Carry authorized equipment in accordance with Allied Universal policies, site requirements, and applicable regulations.

Minimum Requirements:

• Possess 3+ years of combined law enforcement, military, or security-related experience, or a college degree.
• A valid driver’s license is required in accordance with Allied Universal driver policy requirements.
• An armed guard card or license is preferred.
• The ability to lift more than 20 pounds is preferred.
• Be at least 21 years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Participate in industry-specific security training programs.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
