Job summary

Savage III, Inc. is an elite executive protection company recruiting Security Officers for a seasonal railroad security contract in the Los Angeles area.

Openings require 12-hour shifts, day or night, seven days a week, with staffing beginning as soon as scheduled and running through January 15. Starting date and performance may lead to contract extensions based on operations.

Qualifications

• Military or law enforcement background preferred, not required.
• Experience in high-end security and security operations.
• Valid and current security licenses and certifications.

Responsibilities

• Enforce Railroad Safety Policies and deter theft.
• Assist Railroad police in case of problems.
• Inspect containers/trailers for seal and safety compliance.
• Notify Railroad Police of any security issues or breaches.
• Inspect inbound/outbound trains for missing seals or door access issues.
• Stop and identify non-employees and private vehicles on the intermodal ramp.
• Escort inbound trains upon arrival and patrol designated lots.
• Respond to high-risk situations and request emergency personnel when needed.

SEASONAL CONTRACT – MULTIPLE OPENINGS – 12-HOUR SHIFTS

Savage III, Inc. is currently hiring multiple Security Officers to support a seasonal railroad security contract operating seven days a week.

Current Shift Needs

• Night Shift: 6:00 PM – 6:00 AM — Primary Staffing Need
• Day Shift: 6:00 AM – 6:00 PM — Limited Openings Available
• 12-hour shifts
• Weekday and weekend availability needed
• Priority consideration will be given to candidates with weekend availability
• Multiple positions available
• Hiring for positions to start as soon as operationally scheduled

This is a seasonal contract currently anticipated to run through January 15. The contract and/or individual assignments may be extended based on operational needs.

Candidates selected for these positions should be prepared to begin work as soon as staffing operations commence. The official start date will be communicated to selected candidates once it has been confirmed.

Applicants should clearly indicate their availability for day shifts, night shifts, weekdays, and weekends during the application and interview process.

Job Summary

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

• Enforce RailroadSafety Policies.
• Assist Railroad policein case of a problem.
• Deter and detect burglaries of loaded containers.
• Inspect containers and trailers for any seal exceptions or other discrepancies.
• In case any loaded container or a trailer found without a seal, Security will notify RailroadPolice.
• Inspect Inbound and Outbound container trains for missing seals, open container/trailer doors and trespassers.
• Stop and identify all non-employees and all private vehicles driving on the Intermodal Ramp and right of way.
• Deter theft of the company and employee’s property.
• Inspect High Value Shipments.
• Patrol perimeter fences to detect damage and inspect all gates to make sure that they are locked.
• Escort and inspect all inbound trains upon arrival
• Conduct foot patrol of designated lots as directed.
• Request emergency personnel for high-risk situations.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

• Excellent English verbal, comprehension, and written skills – Bilingual is a plus.
• Access to reliable transportation with the ability to arrive to work on time.
• Ability to arrive groomed, clean, dressed and pressed in accordance with uniform standards.
• Basic computer knowledge – i.e.: typing reports, operating basic gate functionality, Word.

Physical Requirements

• Must be able to remain in a stationary position 50%* of the time

• Occasionally required to stoop, kneel, crouch, or sit while remaining alert to surroundings
• Frequently required to use hands or reach with hand and arms at, above, or below shoulder level for various reasons, including detainment
• May occasionally require lifting, pushing, pulling up to 25 pounds
• Regularly works in outdoor weather conditions including severe conditions as seasons dictate
